This is a planning tool, not a final quote. Verify local costs, taxes, and regulations.
A lawn route is profitable only when travel, loading, unloading, fuel, maintenance, and administration are included. If two jobs are far apart, the route may need a higher minimum or a different schedule.
For recurring work, estimate the monthly cost of equipment replacement and repairs. Group customers by neighborhood, set route minimums, and review each route every quarter. A recurring job can be lower than a one-off visit only when it improves route density and lowers your cost per stop.
Add charges for overgrowth, wet or muddy conditions, inaccessible gates, steep slopes, excessive trimming, hauling debris, or same-day requests. Define those triggers before the customer books.
Calculate the cost per visit, add overhead and target margin, then compare the monthly value with your route minimum. Keep the scope consistent.
You can include it in the price or add a trip fee, but it must be recovered somewhere. Route density matters more than the label.
Review costs at least annually and when fuel, insurance, labor, or equipment costs change materially. Give customers clear advance notice.
